Exploring Future of Digital Transformation

Driven by unprecedented rate of change, globalization and hardware commoditization, business and IT leaders today are facing tremendous challenges to innovate at an increasingly rapid rate. Digital transformation refers to how organizations are leveraging emerging information communication technologies (ICTs) and digital solutions to reshape their businesses to create value and stay competitive in response to these contemporary challenges.

According to Gartner, many large organizations are launching digital business initiatives now and that CEOs expect their digital revenue to increase by more than 80% by 2020.  IDC predicts that by 2020, digital transformation initiatives will more than double, from today’s 22% to almost 50%.  According to Forrester however, only 27% of organization today have a digital transformation strategy that maps out how the firm will create value as a digital business.

To explore this topic  further, International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP) will be convening academics, practitioners and other thought leaders in Workshops at HICSS 50, January 4, 2017, Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hawaii.

Human-Centered Digital Transformation & Service Orientation –  Digital transformation requires massive change management in enterprises, because DT not only impacts  all levels of the organization, but it also impact supply chain  and some cases even the whole industry structure.  Integrating human-centered design with a focus to value  co-creation (service orientation) will be key to  facilitating  change management initiatives that results in successful digital transformation (learn more…).
